Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Arez is a philanthropic, charitable and social assistance institution serving the community of Arez, Portugal. Founded in 1517 following the granting of Arez’s charter by King Manuel I, it has a long history of supporting people in need and operates as a public-benefit organisation.
The institution provides social care through three key services: ERPI, a residential home for older people; SAD, a home-support service; and CD, a day centre. Its residential care is presented as a welcoming, family-like environment, with attention to residents’ individual needs, wellbeing and dignity. The organisation also supports families, helping them remain involved in the care of their relatives.
Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Arez shares institutional news, events and documents through its website, alongside information about its services and contact details. Its work is guided by solidarity and care for vulnerable people, bringing together support for older adults, their families and the wider community.
