Opera Sante de Sanctis is an Italian association founded in 1898 by Sante de Sanctis, a pioneering figure in psychiatry and psychology. Today, it operates a network of rehabilitation centres specialising in child neuropsychiatry and scientific psychology, serving children and adults with disabilities. Its approach combines rehabilitation, care and support, with attention to each person’s individuality, self-awareness, self-esteem, development and relationships.
The association offers child neuropsychiatric assessments and a range of therapeutic services: neuropsychomotor, neuropsychological, speech and language, and cognitive behavioural therapy. It also provides support for parents, recognising the importance of family wellbeing, particularly in connection with neurodevelopmental disorders. Services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team that includes specialist doctors, psychologists, psychotherapists, social workers and therapists.
Opera Sante de Sanctis has centres in Rome and Castelnuovo Vomano, in the province of Teramo, and is accredited by the Lazio Region. Alongside its clinical work, it supports research and professional development, including through the Sante de Sanctis Award and internship opportunities.
