Santuario Winston

Santuario Winston is an animal sanctuary in Ávila, Spain, founded in 2012 to give rescued horses and other animals a safe home and a second chance at life. Its residents are cared for without exploitation, with space to live freely in herds and recover at their own pace. The sanctuary provides food, shelter and veterinary care, while sharing each animal’s story and promoting respect for their needs. It does not offer horse riding; instead, its approach centres on observing, listening to and accompanying the animals.

People can support the sanctuary by becoming monthly members or sponsors, making donations through bank transfer, Bizum or PayPal, or joining its €1-a-month Teaming initiative. Other opportunities include volunteering, arranging respectful visits by advance reservation and engaging in activities and educational content. Santuario Winston also offers a shop featuring published books and is developing a charitable collection. Its current campaign aims to raise €600,000 to buy a permanent property, as rented land and at-risk contracts leave 46 horses in need of a secure home.
