Sao Mai Center for the Blind (SMCB) is a non-profit organization based in Vietnam, established in 2001. Our mission focuses on enhancing the capabilities of visually impaired individuals through the research, development, and application of assistive technologies in education, employment, and daily life. We strive to empower our beneficiaries to integrate fully and equitably into society.
At SMCB, we offer a range of services and products, including assistive software like Sao Mai Braille and the SM Music Reader, as well as educational resources that facilitate accessibility. Our initiatives include professional training, vocational workshops, and job placement services, with a remarkable record of establishing computer labs for visually impaired individuals across 23 provinces, training over 400 technicians and teachers, and successfully placing 229 visually impaired individuals in diverse employment sectors.
Additionally, our online library hosts approximately 10,000 educational materials, promoting access to learning for the visually impaired community. SMCB also collaborates with international organizations to expand its impact globally.
