The Sarasota Ballet is a professional dance company and arts organization founded in 1987. Based in Sarasota, Florida, it enriches lives, captivates emotions, and strengthens the community through dance. The company is known for the diversity of its repertoire, including rarely performed ballets presented with artistic integrity. Its 2026–2027 season features 16 ballets by 13 choreographers, including eight company premieres, and marks 20 seasons under the direction of Iain Webb. Performances include works by celebrated choreographers and productions of The Nutcracker, alongside touring appearances such as its engagement at New York’s Joyce Theater.
The Sarasota Ballet also offers dance education through The Margaret Barbieri Conservatory, The Sarasota Ballet School, summer programs, and other opportunities for students aged three and above. Its programs provide an inclusive, nurturing environment for dancers at different levels. Community initiatives broaden opportunities to experience dance, including adaptive programs such as Joyful Movement Through Parkinson’s and Silver Swans.
