The South African Rugby Legends Association, known as SA Rugby Legends, is a registered non-profit company founded in 2001. It works toward two complementary goals: developing rugby at grassroots level and supporting the needs and interests of former rugby players in South Africa. Its VUKA development projects help boys and girls in disadvantaged communities, particularly those historically excluded from structured training and grassroots competition, gain access to rugby.
Players introduced through VUKA can progress to the Legends Cup, a regional competition that gives young participants an opportunity to represent regional teams in a competitive setting. The association also runs Iqhawe Week, a rugby development tournament endorsed by the South African Rugby Union that showcases emerging talent and promotes youth development. Alongside these programmes, SA Rugby Legends organizes events, shares rugby news and video content through its press and television channels, and offers opportunities to book a legend.
The organization also invites public support for its VUKA initiatives through donations, connecting communities, young players and former athletes through rugby
