SARVAC is the Search and Rescue Volunteer Association of Canada, a registered not-for-profit and educational organization dedicated to saving lives. Run by volunteers, SARVAC provides support, coordination, development, and promotion of search, rescue, and emergency response efforts across Canada. They train and practice search, rescue, and survival skills in various parts of the country.

Established in 1996, SARVAC represents the thirteen provincial and territorial volunteer Ground Search and Rescue Associations in Canada. With a volunteer Board of Directors from each province and territory, SARVAC represents the interests of 9,000 Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) volunteers throughout Canada. Their guiding principles include promoting the formation of local search and rescue organizations, standardizing ground search and rescue practices, responding flexibly to changing environments, and educating the public to cope with natural and man-made disasters.

SARVAC also represents public opinion on search and rescue issues, collaborates with jurisdictions, and fosters innovation. Their mission is to save lives by fostering, coordinating, and encouraging excellence in volunteer search and rescue organizations in Canada.
