About South African Right of Way Association
Sarwa is an association that brings together practitioners and disciplines involved in property rights acquisition, fostering networking opportunities and promoting the development of its members through education and training. With a commitment to fair, ethical, transparent, and professional conduct, Sarwa underwrites the high standards upheld by its members.
The Sarwa Strategy revolves around sharing information among members, practitioners, and professional bodies, as well as developing and presenting relevant courses. This includes national and international certification for members who successfully complete these courses. Adhering to a code of conduct and ethics, Sarwa also focuses on marketing to expand its membership and raising and managing funds.
Sarwa's history dates back to 1996 when a group of right-of-way practitioners recognized the urgent need for an association, eventually forming SARWA in 1998. Today, Sarwa is affiliated with the International Right of Way Association (IRWA) and offers its members access to industry conferences, newsletters, and a professional career path.
