Saskadena Six is a Vermont mountain recreation destination in South Pomfret, nestled in the Green Mountains and welcoming skiers and riders since 1936. Formerly known as Suicide Six, the area adopted its current name in 2022; Saskadena means “standing mountain” in the Abenaki language, reflecting a connection to the land and its original inhabitants. As one of the country’s oldest ski areas, it combines a longstanding community heritage with activities for a range of abilities.
In winter, visitors can enjoy downhill skiing and riding across family-friendly and advanced terrain, supported by snowmaking, grooming, lifts, season passes, day tickets, rentals, and a snow sports school offering lessons and programs. The mountain also provides an après-ski atmosphere and seasonal packages through the Woodstock Inn & Resort. Summer offerings include mountain biking on trails for varied abilities, hiking, and Orvis-endorsed fly-fishing, with guided trips and lessons available through the resort. Saskadena Six emphasizes inclusive outdoor recreation and welcomes guests seeking active experiences throughout the seasons.
