Sassikodit

Sassikodit is a Finnish provider of homelike child welfare residential care, located in the village of Nerkoo in Lapinlahti. Its seven-place unit offers a safe, warm and stimulating environment in a peaceful rural setting for children and young people who have been taken into care or placed through open-care support measures. The premises were renovated in 2020 and 2021 to meet applicable requirements, with attention to both domestic comfort and practicality.

Sassikodit provides professional care, upbringing, daily support and rehabilitation. Its child-centred approach focuses on sustained support for each child’s growth and development, combining loving care, safe boundaries, encouragement and opportunities to experience success. The broader aim is to help children become integrated members of society while supporting their individual needs within a community.

The organisation’s stated values include genuine presence, meeting basic needs, respect, safety, trust and responsible adult guidance. Sassikodit also provides a 24-hour on-call contact for its services. The unit currently reports that it has no available places.
