Sattelexpertin is the equine saddle-fitting practice of Carolin Cichon, based in Ehingen (Donau), Germany. A certified saddle expert (DIPO ZeSa), Cichon helps riders assess whether a saddle fits both horse and rider. Her services include saddle fit checks, adjustments and corrections, with particular attention to how the saddle works while the horse is moving.
The practice also offers saddles for sale and checks used saddles. Because a horse’s shape can change with age, training or illness, Sattelexpertin recommends regular inspections, especially for young horses. The aim is to identify fit problems that may cause discomfort or affect movement, posture and the horse’s wellbeing.
Cichon’s interest in equine anatomy and biomechanics informed her specialist training at the German Institute for Equine Osteopathy, followed by saddlery and padding courses. The website also features announcements, workshops, frequently asked questions, articles and information for horse owners seeking guidance on saddle fit and responsible riding
