Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU), located in Sylhet, Bangladesh, was established on November 2, 2006, as a pioneering institution dedicated to agricultural education and research. The university emerged from the Sylhet Government Veterinary College and now encompasses seven faculties: Veterinary, Animal and Biomedical Sciences; Agriculture; Fisheries; Agricultural Economics and Business Studies; Agricultural Engineering and Technology; Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering; and Postgraduate Studies.

SAU offers a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including specialized Master's degrees and doctoral studies, preparing nearly 3,000 students for pivotal roles in agricultural development. With a strong emphasis on research and cross-disciplinary collaboration, the faculty members strive to promote one health concepts and enhance livestock production systems. Alongside formal education, SAU provides various short courses and in-service training programs to meet industry needs.
