The Savannah Bananas are a baseball entertainment team known for turning games into lively, fan-focused events. Founded in Savannah in 2015, the team began as a summer collegiate club with the goal of making baseball fun and drawing fans to Historic Grayson Stadium. After the Bananas name was announced in 2016, strong local and national attention helped the team sell out its opening night. Its early game-day experience featured all-inclusive food, a senior citizen dance team, and dancing players.
The Bananas competed in the Coastal Plain League for seven seasons, winning three Petitt Cup Championships and seeing more than 35 players drafted. In 2022, they left the league to play Banana Ball year-round. The organization, Fans First Entertainment, now fields six independent professional teams in the Banana Ball Championship League.
