SAV St. Pat's Parade is a brand dedicated to promoting a festive and responsible celebration of the Feast of Saint Patrick on March 17th. With a rich history dating back to 1824, the Irish Catholic community in Savannah, Georgia comes together every year for the highly anticipated St.
Patrick's Day Parade, now celebrating its 199th anniversary. The parade is centered around faith, family, and friends, maintaining the foundation of Faith throughout the festivities. While the event is a fun-filled celebration for the entire community, it remains rooted in the spread of Christianity by Saint Patrick.
SAV St. Pat's Parade focuses on creating a family-friendly atmosphere where everyone can enjoy our culture together. The parade committee works closely with local government agencies, including the Chatham County Sheriff's Office and the City of Savannah, to ensure the safety of all attendees.
Thanks to the dedication of the officers and executive committee, as well as the support of the general membership, this day holds a special place in the hearts of both locals and visitors alike. In addition to the parade, SAV St. Pat's Parade hosts a series of events leading up to the main celebration.
Highlights include the greening of the fountain at Forsyth Park, the Celtic Cross Mass and ceremony at the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, and the Seargent Jasper Green ceremony at Madison Square, paying tribute to the military. These events provide opportunities to immerse yourself in Irish culture and traditions.
So, mark your calendars and join us on March 17th for the 199th anniversary of the St. Patrick's Day Parade, as we come together to celebrate faith, family, and the rich Irish heritage in Savannah. May God Bless America, God Bless the Irish, and God Bless us all.
