SAVE FOOD is a global initiative established by Messe Düsseldorf, interpack, and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) aimed at combating food waste and loss. Featuring a robust network of approximately 750 members, including leading companies, organizations, and research institutes, SAVE FOOD fosters collaboration among stakeholders to promote sustainable practices in food preservation and packaging.

The initiative supports innovative solutions like the development of kombucha leather, a sustainable packaging alternative being explored by researchers and students. Through events, projects, and research studies on food loss, SAVE FOOD ensures that members have opportunities for networking, sharing insights, and presenting their solutions at major trade fairs like interpack.
