Save the Parish is a grassroots movement and not-for-profit organisation dedicated to sustaining the Church of England’s parish system. It advocates for thriving local parishes, well-trained clergy, regular worship, pastoral care and sacraments, with churches serving communities across the country. The campaign argues that Church resources should prioritise parish ministry, including through the use of Church Commissioners’ assets and more efficient diocesan spending, and seeks to ensure poorer communities are not left behind.
The organisation supports individuals, clergy and parishes through practical guidance and information. Its resources include a Parish Pack explaining the Church of England system, advice on objecting to changes, support for clergy, and research on church property, pastoral reorganisation and diocesan finances. Save the Parish also shares financial information by diocese and materials on parish share and funding decisions.
People can get involved by joining as individuals or organisations, donating, volunteering as regional representatives, or supporting campaigns and candidates for Deanery and General Synod.
