About Save Your Holy Land
Save Your Holy Land Association (SYHLA) is a youth-led organization established by young university students and graduates in 2011. Recognized by the federal Ministry of Justice, SYHLA focuses on health, education, tourism, and environmental initiatives in the Lalibela region of Ethiopia. Their interventions include reproductive health, HIV prevention and care, youth empowerment, media literacy, emergency humanitarian response, women's empowerment, and economic strengthening.
As of now, SYHLA is operational in eight districts of the North Wollo Zone, Amhara Region, with plans for expansion. The association was initially inspired by two sociologists and has since grown to include youth mobilization and a focus on the development of historic sites and the well-being of the local community.
