Savon Eskeliset

Savon Eskeliset ry is a Finnish family association dedicated to bringing together people connected to the Eskelinen family and preserving the family’s history and heritage. The idea for an association emerged from gatherings of relatives in Joroinen in the 1970s. It was formally founded on 9 June 1985 in Iisalmi, with 63 Eskelinen family members attending, and registered as an association in 1987. Its registered home is Iisalmi, and its area of operation is all of Finland.

The association organizes meetings and other events for members, including annual gatherings and celebrations, and welcomes new members to join its community. It also conducts and supports biographical and genealogical research, collects and archives information about the family, and shares research findings and cultural heritage. Its publishing activities support these aims. The website provides news about upcoming and past events, a gallery of photographs from the association’s activities, information about membership and governance, and details about products.
