Sawtooth Outfitters West Ltd. is a British Columbia outfitting company offering guided trophy hunts in the rugged East Kootenay Mountains. The company’s exclusive hunting territory spans more than 340,000 acres of varied wilderness, including alpine meadows, deep valleys, glaciers, and areas bordering the Purcell Wilderness Conservancy.
Its hunts target a wide range of species, including Rocky Mountain elk, mountain goat, Shiras moose, whitetail and mule deer, black bear, bighorn sheep, mountain grizzly, and predators such as mountain lion, lynx, bobcat, and wolf. Hunts are tailored to different goals and physical abilities, with options that include horseback travel and remote backcountry experiences. Sawtooth operates from two main lodges and several cabins, positioning camps to suit the terrain and the species being pursued.
The outfitter limits the number of hunters each season to provide a more personal, low-pressure experience with individual guiding. It also offers trip-planning information, including preparation advice, travel details, pricing, dates, license fees, and client registration
