Southern Area Hospice Services (SAHS) is dedicated to providing exceptional support and specialist palliative care to individuals with complex, life-limiting conditions within the Southern Health and Social Care Trust Area. With a mission to enhance the quality of life, SAHS offers comprehensive wrap-around care that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of patients and their families. Each service is tailored to honor the individual's wishes, ensuring they receive care from the point of diagnosis onward.
In addition to their vital healthcare services, SAHS actively engages with the local community through fundraising initiatives, with a current goal of raising over £3.6 million annually. These efforts are crucial as all services are provided free of charge, relying heavily on voluntary donations. One of their notable fundraising avenues includes the annual auction featuring top-performing pigeons bred by esteemed fanciers like Owen Markey. This unique intersection of sport and charity helps sustain SAHS’s exceptional care for patients and their families.
