SayTrees is an Indian environmental non-profit founded in 2007 by Kapil Sharma and co-founded by Deokant Payasi. What began as a volunteer-led effort to address declining urban green cover has grown into an organisation delivering nature-based climate solutions across 19 states and two Union Territories. Its work focuses on restoring land and water while supporting communities and livelihoods.
SayTrees plants trees through agroforestry, social forestry and urban forestry, including dense Miyawaki forests. It works with farmers to integrate trees into sustainable farming, and restores lakes and other water bodies through conservation and rainwater-harvesting initiatives. Its clean energy and waste-management work includes promoting renewable energy solutions and biogas units.
The organisation reports planting more than 10 million trees, creating over 200 Miyawaki urban forests, restoring more than 59 lakes and water bodies, and supporting over 20,000 farmers. SayTrees also offers corporate environmental partnership programs and volunteering opportunities. Individuals and organisations can donate, volunteer at planting events, organise activities, or collaborate on sustainability initiatives.
