Say Yes to Education

Say Yes Syracuse is a transformative initiative dedicated to empowering students in the Syracuse City School District and surrounding areas. By providing full-tuition scholarships through partnerships with over 100 public and private colleges and universities, the program supports eligible graduates in achieving their higher education goals. Founded as part of the larger Say Yes to Education movement, which began in 1987, Say Yes Syracuse specifically focuses on eliminating barriers to academic success, particularly for students from under-resourced neighborhoods.

The organization collaborates with various local entities—including Syracuse University, Onondaga Community College, and numerous community foundations—to deliver essential wraparound services. These include legal support, mental health programs like Promise Zone, and family assistance initiatives, all aimed at fostering student engagement and resilience.

Through its comprehensive approach, Say Yes Syracuse not only prepares students for college but also enhances their potential for long-term success, ultimately benefiting the local economy by nurturing a well-educated workforce. The program exemplifies community investment in education, ensuring financial independence for future generations.
