SC Impuls

SC Impuls e.V. is a sports club in Erfurt, Germany, founded on 13 March 1996 as the Erfurter Citylauf-Verein. Established by 14 members, including Olympic champion Hartwig Gauder, it originally provided an organisational foundation for the Erfurt City Run. Today, the club offers opportunities for people who enjoy recreational sport, with activities in running, cycling, gymnastics and volleyball. Members take part for fitness and enjoyment, while the running group also competes in local and nationwide road races and championships.

SC Impuls organises sporting events throughout the year. These include the Sondershäuser Kristalllauf, an international race held in the Brügmanschacht mine, 680 metres underground, and a two-day cycling tour across the Rennsteig. The tour follows the ridge route through the Thuringian Forest, and past editions have attracted up to 200 participants. The club’s website shares information about its activities, events, results, news and supporters, and serves as a platform for sports enthusiasts and anyone interested in its community life.
