The Somali Civil Aviation Authority (SCAA) is Somalia’s national civil aviation authority, responsible for supporting the safety, security, and development of the country’s aviation sector. Its work includes oversight and regulation of air transport, aviation security and facilitation, flight operations, personnel licensing, airworthiness, and aerodromes. The authority also provides air navigation services through functions covering air traffic management, aeronautical meteorology, aeronautical information, communications, navigation and surveillance, safety management, and search and rescue.

SCAA offers aviation information and digital services through its e-services, including the Electronic Aeronautical Information Publication (eAIP), briefing services, NOTAM information, and other online resources. Its organisational functions also include an Aviation Academy, legal and regulatory affairs, internal audit and quality assurance, and corporate services such as human resources, information technology, finance, and procurement. Based in Mogadishu, the authority shares industry news, events, and service updates, and works to ensure Somali airspace is safe while advancing airspace management and civil aviation in Somalia.
