Scaramouche is a contemporary art gallery in Milan, Italy, with roots in New York. Founded there in 2009, it spent seven years presenting an experimental program in the Lower East Side, introducing artists from diverse national backgrounds, often through their first solo exhibitions in the United States. The gallery also helped bring artists into the American art market through acquisitions and exhibitions in public institutions and museums.
Today, Scaramouche presents and documents contemporary art through a program of current and past exhibitions, offering visitors opportunities to encounter a range of artists and artistic perspectives. Its roster includes Nedda Guidi, Nino Mustica, Mirko Basaldella, James Brown, Alighiero Boetti, Luigi Carboni, Keith Haring, Jannis Kounellis and Nuvolo, among others. Exhibition subjects span individual artists and bodies of work, with an archive that traces the galleryโs programming over time.
Scaramouche is located on Via Vezza dโOglio in Milan and welcomes visitors during its published gallery hours. It also shares exhibition updates, news and selected artworks through its website and social media
