SCCPSS, the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System, is dedicated to fostering educational excellence and student success. They recently celebrated their outstanding educators at the Annual Excellence in Education Gala, recognizing remarkable contributions from teachers and instructional support personnel across 56 schools and programs. For the 2027 academic year, Sam Sacks was honored as Teacher of the Year for his innovative teaching practices in the STEAM Lab at New Hampstead K-8 School.

Lauren Evans was named Instructional Support Person of the Year for her advocacy and mentorship roles at the Savannah-Chatham E-Learning Academy. Additionally, Alonna McMullen, with her extensive experience and commitment to instructional leadership, was recognized as Principal of the Year at Hesse K-8 School. SCCPSS offers diverse educational programs and services, including Pre-K, special education, and e-learning options, alongside resources to support students' academic and social needs, ensuring comprehensive development and career readiness in a nurturing environment
