The School-Community Health Alliance of Michigan (SCHA-MI) is a statewide collaboration of individuals and organizations that represent and support school-based and school-linked health centers and programs. Its work focuses on improving access to care and supporting the health and well-being of children, young people, and families across Michigan. The Alliance promotes Child and Adolescent Health Centers, which provide primary, preventive, early-intervention, and mental health services in urban, rural, and suburban school communities.
SCHA-MI helps members strengthen and sustain these services through practical resources, training and skills-building opportunities, and information on operations, billing, compensation, Medicaid enrollment, community health workers, and mental health. It also shares research summaries, guidance for establishing new centers, and tools for community advisory councils. Through advocacy, policy priorities, sponsorship opportunities, and its statewide Youth Advisory Council, the organization engages members and young people in shaping school-based health care. SCHA-MI offers membership, an online directory and site-finding resources, events, and opportunities to get involved.
