The German Chess Federation (Deutscher Schachbund e. V., DSB) is the umbrella organization for chess players in Germany and a member of FIDE, the world chess federation. It serves as a central point of contact for chess nationwide, connecting regional associations, clubs, players, and supporters.
The DSB promotes the game through national teams and competitions, including German championships for individuals, teams, young people, women, and senior players. Its website provides news and information about the federation, its leadership, member associations, policies, and contacts, alongside ratings and competition results. Players and organizers can consult tournament calendars, a broad tournament database, event archives, and resources for learning and playing chess.
The federation also shares chess history, photo galleries, video coverage, downloads, and information about training and sports development. Further resources address safe sport and inclusion, while the organization invites visitors to support its work or become partners. Through these activities and services, the DSB supports both competitive chess and the wider chess community across Germany
