The Schachklub München Südost e.V. is a well-established chess club located in the southeastern region of Munich, having roots tracing back to 2014 when it celebrated its 75th anniversary. With approximately 150 active members, including over 100 children and youth, the club places a strong emphasis on youth development, boasting multiple Bavarian and German champions and a victorious U16 team.

The club’s adult teams, featuring skilled players such as Grandmasters and FIDE Masters, compete at various levels, including the Bavarian Oberliga where they recently finished in 6th place for the 2024/2025 season. Schachklub München Südost is dedicated to making chess accessible, offering open game nights for all interested individuals, alongside structured training sessions for younger players looking to enhance their skills. Additionally, the club encourages participation in open youth tournaments.
