Schachverein Seubelsdorf

Schachverein Seubelsdorf e.V. is a chess club based in Lichtenfels, Germany, welcoming players of all ages and skill levels, from beginners to experienced competitors. The club brings adults and young people together through chess, with an emphasis on learning, friendly competition and social connection—a philosophy it says has guided the association since 1929.

Members can attend weekly Friday club evenings at the TV Oberwallenstadt sports grounds. Youth sessions run from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., followed by the adult club from 7:00 p.m., except during school holidays. The club offers youth training, adult training in cooperation with the VHS, and opportunities to play in teams across several age groups, including U12, U14, U16 and U20, as well as adult teams. It also takes part in tournaments and hosts events such as introductory chess sessions for children and teenagers. For online chess, the club uses Lichess.org.
