Schädel-Hirnpatienten in Not e.V.

Bundesverband Schädel-Hirnpatienten in Not e. V. is a self-help association supporting people with acquired brain injuries and their families, particularly in the northern Upper Palatinate region of Germany.

It offers comprehensive, individual advice and practical guidance after events such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, brain tumour, or cardiac arrest requiring resuscitation. The association helps people navigate early steps following an emergency, rehabilitation phases, and the challenges families may face, including when a child is affected. Its services also include regional self-help groups, member activities, digital exchanges, and information about the Euro WC key.

Through its publications and specialist magazine, the organisation shares relevant information, while events and meetings create opportunities for connection and learning. It works to help individuals and relatives find new perspectives, improve quality of life, and build self-help skills over the long term. The association is part of the nationwide Beratung für Menschen mit erworbener Hirnschädigung network.

Its regional work receives partial support from the Upper Palatinate district and the Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labour and Social Affairs
