Schalgi Publishing House, based in Ramat Gan, is a renowned brand in the Israeli publishing industry. Established in the late 1950s by Uri Schalgi, the publishing house initially operated under the name Ramador, a combination of the names of Schalgi's children, Dorit and Ram. During this time, Schalgi was at the forefront of introducing paperback book formats in Israel.

The early years of Schalgi Publishing (Ramador) focused on pocket books, including popular series that became cult classics, such as Patrick Kim, Bill Carter, Ringo, and The Fear Series. They also released translations of romantic novels, including the popular English Mills & Boon series. Schalgi went on to publish children's books, thrillers, detective stories, and various novels.
