Schaubühne

Schaubühne Lindenfels is an interdisciplinary cultural institution in Leipzig, Germany, combining a theatre, cinema and festival venue. Its nonprofit public limited company owns the building and supports the organisation’s cultural work. The venue produces and presents professional theatre in a range of genres, disciplines and formats, both on its own stages and beyond its building. Its programme also spans dance, performance, film art, music, literature and visual arts, bringing local and international artists and audiences together.

Visitors can attend theatrical productions, concerts, readings, exhibitions, film screenings and festivals, including programmes for children and special events with talks, workshops and audience discussions. The cinema presents varied film selections, from international and documentary works to family screenings and themed series. The venue also hosts festivals, such as DOK Leipzig and the Latin American Days, and offers spaces including the Ballsaal, Grüner Salon and foyer for cultural events. A café and bar add to its role as a place to meet, while tickets, event information and an online programme help audiences plan visits.
