Willi Schönung is an international equine therapist specializing in the care and performance of sport horses. His qualifications include equine physiotherapy, osteopathy, chiropractic, manual therapy and acupuncture, and he is an FEI-permitted therapist and Masterson Method Certified Practitioner. He works with horses across disciplines and countries, including top-level dressage, show jumping, eventing, racing, endurance and driving.

Schönung’s THE WINNING APPROACH is an integrative treatment concept tailored to each horse’s discipline, training demands and recovery needs. Rather than following a standard routine or treating body structures in isolation, he considers movement patterns, muscles, joints, the spine and their functional connections. Treatments combine manual therapy techniques to address pain, tension and restricted mobility, while supporting balance, movement quality, range of motion and performance.

Services are available for both competition and leisure horses, with options including foundational, physiotherapy and performance treatments, as well as international tournament accompaniment. Schönung’s clients include Olympic athletes and riders ranked among the FEI’s top competitors, and he also treats horses entrusted to him by veterinarians and equine specialists.
