Scholars is a program backed by iMerit that connects experts around the world with remote freelance work supporting the development of artificial intelligence. Work can include transcribing doctors’ recordings, reviewing AI-generated medical notes, annotating healthcare conversations, and completing language or document-related tasks. Roles are offered across multiple countries and may involve assessments, training, and collaboration with international teams. Tasks are paid hourly, with the site advertising earnings of $40 per hour or more and reporting payments to Scholars. Joining is free, but applicants must be approved and may need to pass skill assessments before being matched with opportunities. The program does not guarantee ongoing work: task availability and selection depend on a Scholar’s skills and the roles on offer.
