About Schoolhouse.World
Schoolhouse.world is a nonprofit peer-led tutoring platform founded by Sal Khan, CEO of Khan Academy. It connects high school students with trained volunteer tutors and learners around the world, combining free academic support with opportunities for human connection. Programs take place online via Zoom, with expert-vetted curriculum, flexible scheduling, and sessions offered daily.
Students can join free SAT® bootcamps, including four-week programs and focused sessions in Math or Reading and Writing. Peer tutors who scored 700 or higher guide learners through practice tests and review. Schoolhouse.world also offers one-on-one Dialogues, where students discuss topics they care about and develop communication, empathy, and critical thinking skills. College Admissions Workshops provide small-group help with college lists, essays, financial aid, scholarships, and application questions. For ongoing academic support, Homework Help connects students with peers who can answer questions and assist across high school subjects, with live sessions and support available around the clock.
Schoolhouse.world’s approach centers on learning from peers who understand students’ coursework and can explain concepts in relatable ways.
