The New Zealand Secondary Schools Rowing Association (NZSSRA), established in 1967, serves as the pivotal organization for school rowing in New Zealand. Its mission is to provide a coherent framework for students and schools involved in the sport, fostering competitive excellence and sportsmanship across various age groups. The association organizes key regattas, including the renowned Maadi Cup and regional championships that facilitate competition among its member schools.

Through its comprehensive website, the NZSSRA offers essential resources, including regatta calendars, results, and important regulations governing the sport. Schools can join the association to access valuable support and guidance, ensuring a structured approach to rowing. The NZSSRA also emphasizes safety and adherence to regulations, continuously updating its governance frameworks through annual meetings and discussions among member schools. With an expanding network, including recent additions like Papamoa College and Rolleston College, the NZSSRA is dedicated to nurturing the future of rowing in New Zealand’s secondary schools.
