Dr. Moritz Schubotz is a prominent figure in the field of decentralized information infrastructure, leading the Research and Projects Mathematics department at FIZ Karlsruhe – Leibniz Institute for Information Infrastructure. He is also a substitute lecturer at Humboldt University Berlin and collaborates with Gipplab, tutoring students at various academic levels. Dr. Schubotz’s innovative research focuses on decentralized architectures designed to enhance mathematical research by improving scalability, resilience to censorship, and efficiency. His team is actively investigating peer-to-peer protocols to propel understanding of decentralized technologies, applying these insights to important infrastructure projects across Germany and Europe.

With a passion for making AI-ready mathematical data accessible, Dr. Schubotz works with a dedicated team on methods that enhance both human and machine comprehension of mathematical expressions. An accomplished academic, he has over 60 peer-reviewed publications and significant experience in securing funding through successful grants. Outside of work, he enjoys family time and participating in water sports such as canoe polo and water polo.
