About Schützenverein Holsen
Schützenverein Holsen-Schwelle-Winkhausen 1862 e. V. is a community association serving the “United States” of Holsen, Schwelle and Winkhausen.
Founded in 1862, the club brings together residents through traditional marksmen’s activities, social events and a strong local sense of community. Its work spans several areas, including the Jungschützen youth division and a shooting sports group, offering members opportunities to take part in both youth engagement and competitive or recreational shooting. The association also organizes its annual Schützenfest, a major event in the local calendar featuring a traditional bird-shooting contest to select the next king.
In 2026, the festival is scheduled for August 22–24, with the king’s competition planned for August 15. Other club activities include a winter ball held jointly with neighboring associations.
