Koninklijke Schutterij St. Sebastianus Voerendaal is a long-established folkloric shooting association based in Voerendaal, the Netherlands. Founded in 1544, the society carries forward traditions rooted in historic civic guards, while serving a social, religious and cultural role in the community. Its approximately 70 members bring together people of different ages, and the association has welcomed new young members in recent years.
The schutterij takes part in traditional events and competitions, including the annual King’s Bird Shooting, where members compete to become the season’s king. Its shooting team also holds an internal championship, and members attend regional gatherings such as the Bondsschuttersfeest. The association has a notable history at the OLS: Voerendaal’s members won the competition in 1978 and again in 1994, when the win marked the society’s 450th anniversary.
