Von 1897 bis 1951 verkehrte zwischen GoÃdorf-Kohlmühle und Hohnstein die einzige 750mm Schmalspurbahn der Sächsischen Schweiz. Der Schwarzbachbahnverein strebt die Wiederinbetriebnahme eines Teiles der Bahn durch das Schwarzbachtal an.

About Schwarzbachbahn
Schwarzbachbahn e.V. The association aims to restore a section of the railway through the picturesque Schwarzbach valley, becoming an integral partner of the Saxon Steam Railway Route. Major initiatives include fundraising for the restoration of the steam locomotive IVK 99 585, with a goal of 75,000 euros and ongoing community support.
In addition to train restoration efforts, Schwarzbachbahn hosts events for visitors, including an annual railroad festival featuring historical steam trains, refreshments, and entertainment, scheduled for August 23rd and 24th, 2025. The association also engages the public through work days and welcomes visitors to explore their railway during operational hours. Adhering to their commitment to preserving railway heritage, Schwarzbachbahn parties with local tourism networks to enhance the enjoyment of the unique landscapes and history of the Saxon Switzerland area.
