About Stiftung Schweizer Tafel
Schweizer Tafel has been distributing over 24 tons of perfectly good surplus food every day to 500 social institutions in Switzerland for more than 20 years. These institutions include homeless shelters, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, and women's refuges. By collecting excess food from retail stores, Schweizer Tafel helps bridge the gap between abundance and scarcity, providing much-needed support to those in need across the country.
The foundation operates in various regions, including Mittelland, Nordwestschweiz, Ostschweiz, Romandie, Zentralschweiz, and Zürich. Schweizer Tafel relies on generous donations to fund its operations, and these donations are used for specific projects, are traceable, and are tax-exempt.
