– Schwingerverband

Founded in 1931, Schwingerverband Rapperswil & Umgebung is a Swiss wrestling association serving the See and Gaster districts. Its history began with notable early success: during its first summer, a wrestler from Rapperswil won a national wrestling crown, helping attract new members. Training initially took place in small venues, and the association has since developed activities for wrestlers at different stages of life and experience.

The association supports active wrestlers, young wrestlers and a veterans’ group, and provides information about training, its committee, events and membership. Its calendar features wrestling festivals, including the Rickenschwinget and a youth and association wrestling festival in Schmerikon; the site also lists the 2028 Northeastern Swiss Wrestling Association event. Recent news highlights competitors and results, including Damian Ott’s first Rickenschwinget victory and Simon Fäh’s first regional association crown. The association also offers venue rental and promotes its Sport-verein-t initiative. Its website shares updates, event details, membership information and links to association sponsors, including several Raiffeisen banks.
