Their mission is to connect journalists with credible and articulate scientists from various research fields, ensuring that accurate and reliable information reaches the public. SMC Malaysia also assists scientists in effectively communicating their research, making science more accessible to the general public.

Founded by Dr. Mahaletchumy Arujanan, a globally recognized science communicator, and journalist Tan Su Lin, SMC Malaysia has a combined experience of almost 30 years in biotechnology, science communication, and journalism. Their ethos revolves around championing evidence-based science in media reporting and encouraging scientists and organizations to proactively engage in public discourse.
