Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Alcantarilha is a Portuguese faith-based social solidarity institution established in 1586. Rooted in the Catholic tradition and guided by principles of humanism, it works to serve and support people in need through the corporal and spiritual Works of Mercy. The institution is canonically established and is also recognised under civil law as a Private Institution of Social Solidarity, part of Portugal’s social economy and a public-benefit legal entity.

Its services address different community needs across generations. These include a residential home for older people, a day centre and a home support service, as well as Creche Sagrada Família, its childcare provision. The organisation also maintains the Church of Mercy and shares institutional information, news and updates through its website.

Based in Alcantarilha, in the municipality of Silves, Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Alcantarilha combines social care with its religious and community mission. Its work is overseen through institutional governing bodies and is conducted within the framework governing Portuguese Misericórdias.
