Chef Amethyst Ganaway, in collaboration with the esteemed South Carolina State Museum, presents "Harvesting Heritage," an event series dedicated to exploring the rich foodways of South Carolina. This innovative series will celebrate the culinary history and future of Black foodways across six distinct regions: the coastal areas, Upstate, Appalachia, Lowcountry, Pee Dee, and the Midlands.

Kicking off in August 2024, the events will feature interactive experiences such as cooking demonstrations, discussions about food sustainability, and showcases of traditional culinary practices. Notable highlights include guest appearances from local culinary experts and themed receptions designed to immerse attendees in the region's stories and flavors.

Chef Ganaway, recognized nationally for her work in Southern cuisine, aims to use her platform to honor the history, culture, and artistry of South Carolina’s diverse food landscape.
