About SCOC
Scoc, also known as St. Clair O’Connor Community Inc., is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating a safe and caring environment for gracefully aging seniors. This intergenerational community welcomes families of all ages and focuses on fostering a supportive and encouraging atmosphere.
Seniors at SCOC enjoy the benefits of both intimate and private living, as well as numerous resources to engage with the community and build relationships with fellow residents and staff members. Guided by Christian faith and Mennonite heritage, Scoc is committed to nurturing the health and well-being of older adults and families in the community. Their vision is to lead the way in developing new models of service, housing, and care that define a healthy community for people of all ages.
At Scoc, service is a top priority, and residents are encouraged to serve one another and the neighborhood, extending Christian love and compassion. The organization values lifelong learning, trust, unity, diversity, teamwork, accountability, adaptability, and commitment to celebrating the unique worth of each individual. Scoc also offers various programs and services such as Seniors Active Living Centres, Assisted Living Services, Adult Day Service, Long Term Care Services, Clinic Services, and Food Services, ensuring that seniors have access to comprehensive care and support.
Furthermore, Scoc operates a Tea Room & Store, conveniently located at the corner of St. Clair Ave. East and O’Connor.
This establishment offers freshly served food, coffee, sandwiches, soups, groceries, cards, books, and gifts to residents and visitors alike.
