ScriptaBo

ScriptaBo APS is an association of writers from Bologna and its surrounding area, founded in 2022 to continue a long-standing civic tradition of bringing writers and readers together. It works with institutions to support culture, community participation and the power of storytelling. The association welcomes both writing professionals and enthusiasts interested in writing and the wider worlds of publishing, cinema, television, digital platforms and copywriting. Members can contribute ideas and projects aligned with its aims, while supporters can help through membership or donations.

ScriptaBo organizes writing workshops, literary events and activities for schools, including “Vince chi legge!”, a reading competition for upper-secondary students. Its flagship event is Lectura Mundi, an annual reading festival that brings writers and audiences together to discuss the importance of reading and stories that deserve to be heard. The 2026 edition focused on water and took place at Bologna’s Oratorio San Filippo Neri. Through its projects, courses, events and newsletter, ScriptaBo provides a community for people who use words to express themselves and better understand the world.
