Sovereign Cloud Stack

Sovereign Cloud Stack (SCS) is a European initiative building an open, transparent and vendor-neutral ecosystem for digitally sovereign cloud infrastructure. Its goal is to give organisations genuine choice through certifiable standards, a modular open-source software stack and practical knowledge-sharing. SCS helps teams assess cloud solutions through transparent certification, apply standards to operate and develop existing infrastructure, and build their own sovereign clouds with open-source software. It also provides guidance on specifying standards in procurement and finding suitable integrators.

SCS offers certification pathways for compatible Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Kubernetes as a Service (KaaS) clouds, as well as for IaaS and KaaS integrators. Its certificates make provider capabilities visible against requirements for security, interoperability and independence. The initiative supports collaboration through its community, standards forum, working groups, meetings and GitHub, and shares guidance through documentation, events, news and a newsletter. Organisations can participate by joining the community, becoming members or pursuing certification for their cloud solutions.
