Joël Strill is a French Breton sculptor based in Vannes, in southern Brittany, where he welcomes visitors to his contemporary sculpture studio and gallery. Awarded at the International Sculpture Competition associated with the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, he works across a wide range of materials and techniques. His creations include bronze, steel, stainless steel, aluminium, brass, resin, stone, wood, plaster, wire mesh and other materials, often combining them through welding, casting, carving and assemblage.
His work also encompasses decorative pieces, frescoes, reliefs, murals, photography and visual art. Strill accepts commissions for personalised sculptures, including commemorative works, gifts and trophies, and highlights reuse and the creative revaluation of materials. Alongside his artistic practice, he shares his expertise through sculpture classes, workshops and continuing professional training in several disciplines, including stone and wood carving.
